What is DTM?

Dermal Traction Method (formally known as YAP) is manual therapy technique that targets the small nerves  that reside in the skin.

Key Learning Objectives:

  • Anatomy and physiology of the superficial fascia including it’s variability in different body regions.

  • How Dermal Traction Method should be the preferred choice to increase mobility of the skin as well as address “unhappy” superficial nerves. aka pinched nerves.

  • Learn which cutaneous nerves create pain that are often misdiagnosed. Examples include; Plantar Fasciitis, Patella Femoral Syndrome, Headaches, Neck pain, Upper back and Groin pain.

  • When a superficial nerve is the pain generating tissue, learn how this relates to movement. Design your rehabilitation exercises with nerve biomechanics in mind to avoid further provocation with sports injuries.

  • Learn where almost all superficial nerves are located in the body!

What is the Clinical Audit Process?

Patients that come into your office want to see results! The Clinical Audit Process is the most effective method to obtain consistent and sustainable results! The Purpose of this course is to teach you assessments and interventions using the Clinical Audit Process (Assess-Intervention-Reassess) as your vehicle to navigate all aspects of the bio-psycho-social model.

Learning Objectives

  • Learn how to use your examination as a instant feedback process to sharp shoot your diagnosis.

  • Learn the “Neurocentric Approach” to assessment and rehabilitation. Use Neurodymanic principles to analyze active movement and quickly sharp shoot  the root of the problem. Hint- Rarely a mobility issue.

  • Is it a mobility or stability issue? Is it neurologic tension, muscles tension, protective or myofascial “stiffness”? Let’s make it simple!

  • Addresses the common misconception that rehab “takes too long in clinical practice”. CAP is the framework to make functional changes in only a few minutes.

  • How the CAP addresses all aspects of the bio-psycho-social model
